NOM CONCEPT STUDIO IS A NOMADIC DESIGN STUDIO NESTLED IN THE TROPICS.
IT’S AN ONGOING EXPLORATION, EVOLUTION, AND IMAGINATION OF SPACES THAT EMBODY THE JOURNEY OF THEIR INHABITANTS.
NOM is the personal studio of architect and designer Nia Jorquera. Hailing from the mystical Atacama Desert of Chile, Nia’s home nurtured the seed for her unique and grounded perspective on space, beauty, and design.
A graduate of Universidad Mayor in Santiago, Nia began her career at a local firm, contributing to both residential and commercial projects. Her foundation in architecture grew alongside a deepening passion for interiors and the way people inhabit space. In 2016, she left Chile and landed in Siargao Island, Philippines, where she took on her first solo commission: a small boutique restaurant. What followed was an organic journey that led her through Bali, Mexico, and back to the island , each project building on her curiosity, intuition, and connection to place.
Today, Nia works remotely from Siargao, designing homes and interiors that feel personal, intentional, and warm. Her style leans toward clean lines, honest materials, and spaces that feel calm and lived-in. She believes design should be intuitive and collaborative, adapting to the lives and rhythms of the people who experience it. NOM is not about trends, it’s about creating places that feel real, timeless, and full of soul.
NOM actually comes from a small mix-up, people often mistakenly call her Mia, but her name is Nia. Because of this, she started saying: “Not M, it’s N.” That little correction turned into a name, and now a studio. It’s her way of saying: this is Nia’s way of seeing, thinking, and creating. Her own unique language, translated into space.
